  Dan jenkins is the best driving instructor I could ask for, he’s calm, funny, gives me the best and easiest advice and gave me so many tips and tricks to ensure that I pass my test which I did thanks to him, he made driving easier by using different techniques, he boosted my confidence so much when I first started learning as he didn’t rush me to learn he took his time with me and let me learn in my own time, we had some of the best and funniest conversations on our lesson which is why we got along so well which also meant I wanted to try extra hard to show him my thank you for his hard work he’s done.

Build my confidence up When I started driving with Dave at BDS. I had already taken my driving test 3 times with someone else and failed each one. I was looking for someone who could build my confidence up when driving and I found exactly that, with Dave. I passed with no minors My intensive course was with Mike Joannou, what an unbelievable man assisted me with what I needed, listened to where I felt I needed help and ensured I persevered with it.   After being told I should look for driving an automatic car as I had bad clutch control from a previous driving instructor ( not from BDS) I lost my confidence to drive! I started lessons with Stephen wild at BDS driving school ( in a manual) and passed second time ( first time was just nerves on my part) I am over the moon and would recommend Stephen to anyone.   BDS helped me find an intensive course that suited me. They were helpful from the start and were extremely flexible with all my requests. I booked my intensive course for January and paid a deposit however my exam dates got moved and with changing circumstances I had to cancel my intensive course. All it took was a message and within a few minutes I received a message back and was offered a full refund. I have had nothing but a positive experience with BDS and would recommend them to anyone wanting to learn to drive. - 28/09/23 

  I spent my time with BDS with an amazing instructor called Shane; He is an incredible instructor and person, we had many lovely chats unrelated to my driving but my driving always took priority in the absolute best way, he was always willing to teach in a way that suited me best and accommodated to my tight schedule with ease.   I just passed my test after doing the 30 hour intensive course with Simon Anson - definitely reccomend as a very patient instructor who is easy-going and explains things very well.
I have found learning to drive probably the hardest thing I've ever done - I left it late in life (38) because of issues relating to my autism, but I really wanted the independence and freedom of being able to drive.
I'd tried several instructors before but the intensive course made such a difference in giving me the confidence behind the wheel, and helped everything click into place. It's definitely the best way to learn if driving doesn't come naturally to you. - 10/07/23

A Big Thankyou to Dave I had an excellent experience with BDS and would highly recommend my instructor Dave Thorpe. As someone who was terrified to start driving, Dave was the ideal instructor for me. He was calm and patient throughout all of my lessons and always put me at ease. I was never afraid to ask questions (no matter how stupid!), and I was never made to feel awkward or pressured when I kept making the same mistakes. Whenever I got disheartened or frustrated with myself, Dave told me not to dwell on past mistakes and to just concentrate on the present which helped me to stay focused. He did everything he could to help me achieve my end goal and we even managed to have a laugh during our lessons. So for me it was a perfectly balanced learning experience!

Aside from the actual lessons themselves, I found booking lessons with BDS to be easy and stress free. It was also very easy to get in touch with Dave who was very accommodating when it came to booking and rearranging lessons, and who ensured that I got every single minute I paid for. He also provided plenty of useful links and resources for both my theory and practical tests.

All in all, I’d highly recommend both Dave and BDS. They helped me to achieve something that seemed impossible to me at the beginning of my journey. - 26/03/23

My BDS Experience I would recommend BDS to anyone that would like to start learning or are near to being test ready. After completing a 35 hour intensive course I wasn’t test ready and started to take lessons with Dan Jenkins to persevere. Finally passed my driving test today & all thanks to the support and guidance from Mandy who is a fabulous instructor.

It had been more than a few years since I’d taken lessons so I decided to book a short intensive course and BDS came highly recommended and they did not disappoint! From my initial enquiry with Donna, to be being put in touch with my instructor Mandy, the communication was great and I had all my queries answered and before I knew it I was booked on the right course for me.

As an instructor Mandy was friendly and calm, and had a great way of explaining things to me when I was looking a little confused. Mandy would push me to get the best out of me and ensure that I was driving to the best of my ability which overall has helped me feel more confident on test day!

  Could not recommend Emma Bird enough! She has been so patient and understanding towards me since my first lesson. If i went back 6 months i never thought I would have passed but i have been given a new confidence with Emma. I had gone with another instructor first but wasn't happy with him and was recommended Emma by a friend. She immediately informed me of a few bad habits I'd been taught from my previous instructor. She makes you feel at ease and doesn't rush you at all and has always remained both professional and friendly towards me!

  I'd definitely recommend BDS. I've been with a few companies on and off over the years and BDS were the best.

Due to the pandemic and constant lockdowns interrupting progress, I've had a few instructors as I went from regular lessons to an intense course, and then regular lessons again after another long lockdown and moving to the other side of Blackpool. Paul and Simon were great, I felt like we covered a lot in a short space of time and I was progressing more quickly than I did with previous instructors. They were both easy to get on with. Mandy gets a special shout out though as I really enjoyed my lessons with her and I feel like she's helped me to understand how to be a better driver. I've struggled tremendously with driving anxiety and I feel like she really helped me to control it and feel more at ease. She's patient and easy to get on with and I liked having a female instructor.

I would recommend all the instructors I had, but if driving stresses you right out and you'd feel more relaxed with a female instructor, I would go with Mandy.

And thanks to Donna for trying to get me booked in Asap both times my test was cancelled due to lockdown.

  Flawless experience with Emma Bird whilst preparing for my trailer test. Emma was super accommodating with some last minute training before my test.   Booked a 10 hour intensive course through donna at last minute. The process was easy and really stress free. On the way to my driving course our family car broke down and Cindy from bds drove an hour a way to meet me and pick me up..... when I rang donna to explain the situation and explain I couldnt get there... she didnt hesitate and was more worried about me losing my money. Cindy is a fabulous instructor and is lots of fun but very patient. I didnt pass my test, as I made a silly mistake. I will 100% be back to do my test with B.D.S - 26/02/20
